Redjett: A Management Company
In September of 2015, we launched another company – Redjett. Redjett exists to holistically serve an artist’s needs from a management perspective – we surround artists and guide them on all of their career decisions, from business, to marketing, merchandise, PR, touring, endorsements, sponsorships and more. We work with Grammy nominated artist Lauren Daigle, and Word Entertainment soloist, Blanca.
The beginning of the company can be traced back to 2012, when a friendship was birthed between myself and Kendra Flack. We met on the Winter Jam tour, where I was working for Warner Music Nashville and helming the partnership between the tour and our artists on it; and Kendra was the assistant tour manager. We connected then, and after I launched maddjett, we would occasionally meet to share war stories about what we were up to, and I learned all about the work she was doing with Kari Jobe. Over many Starbucks drinks, we learned that we had the same foundation for how we wanted to treat artists, and the “what if” dreams began to take shape.
Over the three years, our maddjett clients led us to woking for management companies in the roles with Oprah, Taylor and Hunter, and I learned first-hand how managers think, and the “why” behind their decisions. I was drawn to that role in an artist’s life, and could not stop thinking about managing at some point in the future. Concurrently, Kendra always had the dream of running her own management company. As she launched her own business, Redbarn, we continued to talk about what business values mattered to us, and grew closer to each other and knew that if there ever was the right opportunity, we would start a management company.
In September of last year, we had the opportunity to open the doors of Redjett, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be running the management company now. We are still both active in maddjett and Redbarn as the CEO’s; we are just learning how to manage our schedules and new Jedi mind tricks to keep up with everything on our plate.
